Welcome to the CASE Association!
The CASE Association (CASE, formerly known as the Eastern Case Writers' Association) welcomes you to its web site. CASE is an affiliate of the North American Case Association (NACRA) and meets annually in May in conjunction with the Eastern Academy of Management (EAM). This home page is designed to become your gateway to the wonderful world of case writing, teaching, and research, and therefore remains a work in progress.
As a developmental organization that advocates case writing and case teaching, we pride ourselves in providing a forum for both novice and seasoned case writers. Our annual meeting in May provides an opportunity to work with other case writers and receive feedback on cases at any stage of development, from idea to “nearly ready for publication.” We also have a mentoring program where novice faculty are paired up with seasoned veterans -- this program has led to a number of submissions to our annual conference and our journal. Starting soon, we will also have a network of campus representatives to promote case writing and research at their home schools. We also offer workshops, at the annual meeting and also by arrangement for organizations and schools for a negotiated fee.
Our online journal, The CASE Journal, pioneered in October of 2004, includes not only teaching cases but also articles addressing the case method of instruction and research. Our "Professor Moore" continuing case series has addressed such topics as the basics of case writing, obtaining client permissions to release the case, handling reviewer feedback, and case instruction. Full access to the journal is available to all with a simple login procedure.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at either our annual meeting, one of our workshops, or via email or the website. If there is anything that we can do to assist you in your research or instruction, please contact me directly at: margaret.naumes@unh.edu.
Sincerely,
Margaret Naumes, Ph.D.
