Welcome to the CASE Association!
The CASE Association (CASE, formerly known as the Eastern Case Writers’ Association) welcomes you to its web site. CASE is an affiliate of the North American Case Association (NACRA) and meets annually in May in conjunction with the Eastern Academy of Management (EAM). This home page is designed to become your gateway to the wonderful world of case writing, teaching, and research.
It is truly an honor to be participating this year as the President of The CASE Association. We have an excellent Board and our team is on a mission! Our mission is to innovate in our program delivery and create new value added programs and features to enhance the privilege of membership in our organization.
CASE will host its 2018 Annual Conference (as part of the Eastern Association of Management conference) in May 2018 in Providence, RI. We hope that you will attend and submit cases for review and best case competition monetary awards. As a developmental organization that advocates case writing and case teaching, we pride ourselves in providing a forum for both novice and seasoned case writers. The annual conference provides an opportunity to work with other case writers and receive feedback on cases at any stage of development, from idea to "nearly ready for publication."
Among our recent innovations, CASE launched the Certified Case Writer Program in 2017. The program is designed to certify experienced case writers, mentor new case writers, and hopefully offer business school faculty, whether scholars or practitioners, an avenue toward publication. Please check out the information on our website to participate. Gina Vega and David Desplaces are the program directors. We are very enthusiastic about this program!
Our online journal, The CASE Journal, pioneered in October of 2004, includes not only teaching cases but also articles addressing the case method of instruction and research. Full access to the journal is available to all with a simple login procedure. Please encourage your business school departments and colleagues to submit cases. The editor of The CASE Journal, Rebecca Morris, is hard at work to bring us another great issue.
We look forward to continue cultivating our special relationship with our members. In order to remain strong and serve the community of scholars and case writers, we need your support. Our membership continues to grow. Please encourage others to join us!
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at either our annual meeting, one of our workshops, or via email or the website. If you have any thoughts or ideas to make us a better organization, or if there is anything that we can do to assist you in your research or instruction, please send me an email at email@example.com.
